It has resulted in local developments and economic investments in the nearby villages. The Waterfall Trail is now one of the most visited destinations in Rugova.

Waterfall Trail Project

The Waterfall Trail project is a phased rural sustainable mountain development project in the Rugova Valley.  It is one of the first steps in initiating sustainable development in the rural mountain region and promoting local eco-family tourism.

The Waterfall Trail unveils to the community two hidden waterfalls, caves, and two high alpine villages. This project also promotes the exploration of nature by children and youth through environmental programs to see, learn, do, and understand environmental issues.  The Environmentally Responsible Action (ERA) group began the project in 2007 with the local community, and the first phase of the Trail was completed the same year.
